In February 2012 Daetech Systems was awarded the ADS Security and Innovation award 2012 for the latest MIDAS DB-X and for its contribution in making it a safer world. Voted as the outright winners by a panel of judges from the Home Offices CAST (Center for Applied Sciences and Technology) Department. The award was presented by James Brokenshire MP the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Crime and Security and Mr Chris Adams of General Dynamics UK Ltd who sponsored the awards.
Commenting on the award, Rees Ward, CEO ADS said: "The winning technology, MIDAS, is a technology developed by Daetech Systems to address Police investigators need to effectively recover and collate video and data evidence such as CCTV from a multiplicity of recording formats. Versions of MIDAS are being used by many forces in the UK including the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), Nottingham, West Mercia and Gloucestershire constabularies, as well as UK Counter Terrorism. Daetech received many visitors to the stand to see the award winning MIDAS, most notably James Brockenshire MP, Dame Helen Ghosh DCB the Permanent Secretary to the Home Office and many international delegations from the USA, Columbia, Middle East and Asia.
